Texting terms
Alongside circle texting
Each Alongside circle can have its own phone number. Members who choose to can text updates, photos and plans to that number, and get texts about their circle. Texting is optional: everything also works on the website and by email.
How you sign up
Signed-in members add their mobile number under My choices in their circle, and confirm it with a one-time code we text to them. Alongside doesn’t text anyone who hasn’t done this. Agreeing to texts isn’t a condition of joining a circle or of any purchase.
What texts you may get
- A one-time code to confirm your number, then one text confirming you’re set up.
- Replies to texts you send, such as asking who should see something or confirming it was shared.
- Notifications that someone shared something with you, if you choose texts for notifications. They say who shared something, never what it says.
- An occasional idea for something to share, only if you turn this on.
Message frequency varies with how you and your circle use Alongside. Alongside doesn’t send marketing texts.
Costs
Msg & data rates may apply, according to your mobile plan.
Stopping and getting help
- Reply STOP to stop all texts from your circle’s number. You’ll get one text confirming it, and no more after that.
- Reply START to receive texts again.
- Reply HELP for help, or email hello@alongsideassist.com.
- You can also remove your number at any time under My choices.
Good to know
- Texting is available for US mobile numbers.
- Carriers aren’t liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
- Texts aren’t monitored around the clock. In an emergency, call 911.
